About The University

The Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University has been established in the District Headquarters of Mulugu, State of Telangana by an Act of Parliament- Act 36 of 2023 by an amendment to the Central Universities Act, 2009. The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on 7th December, 2023. The University will offer Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral level programmes. The University has been named “Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University” on the Mother and Daughter dieties of Tribes of the region.

A total 335.04 acres land is allocated by the Government of State of Telangana for the University. Mulugu District is formed out of parts of erstwhile Warangal District and Jayashankar BhupalpallyDistrcit on February 17, 2019. It is surrounded by Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Peddapalle, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural.

The University will operate from a Transit Campus located in Jakaram Village near to the District Headquarters of Mulugu till the construction towards permanent campus is completed.
